Applications for our free preschool programs open April 14

Preschool applications for the 2025-26 school year open Monday, April 14.

TPS offers a mix of free half-day and full-day preschool programs for qualifying families, including students with disabilities and individual education plans.

Qualifying factors for preschool enrollment:

  • Address: Families who live within the Tacoma Public Schools boundary
  • Age: Children must be 3 or 4 years old on or before Aug. 31
  • Household income: Priority is given to families with a household income below 500% of the Federal Poverty Level

Interested families should complete a short application to help determine their child's eligibility and which program best fits their needs.
